📋 Description

• Travel 100% to wind farms throughout North America on an 8/1 rotation. • Lead and mentor other technicians on a team with proper composite blade repairs, up to Category 5 complex or specialty repairs. • Perform expert composite blade repair uptower via platforms, occasionally on the ground, and potentially rope access. • Perform Epoxy and Polyester resin wet lay up, vacuum infusion, balsa and foam sandwich materials. • May be required to perform structural repair of blades. • Complete detailed Daily Progress Reporting Documents and QA/QC reports, adhering to Quality Checkpoints. • Complete onsite stock checks. • Demonstrate leadership with team. • Assisting site lead and project coordinator.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of high-quality composite repair experience performing all types of blade repairs. • Knowledge of epoxy and polyester resins, wet lay-up, and vacuum bag techniques. • Experience handling balsa and foam core materials. • Knowledge of fiberglass reinforcement and structural repair methods. • Ability to safely and properly use powered hand tools. • Good finger dexterity, including precise use of hand and power tools • Understanding of repair specifications, including wind speeds, temperature, and humidity restrictions. • Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and processes. • IT literate, including email, internet, and iPad usage. • Ability to work well in a team, take guidance, and provide leadership when required. • Experience safely setting up and using 360-degree and 2M basket platforms. • Willingness and ability to travel extensively, including by air and ground transportation, often on short notice, and to spend extended periods away from home at project sites. • Ability to drive or travel up to 11 hours per day when required. • Flexibility to adapt to changes in scope and work assignments. • Able to work safely in outdoor environments under both extreme heat and cold conditions. • Physically capable of meeting strenuous job requirements, including climbing ladders 2+ times per day up to 300 feet (90 meters), bending, crawling, stooping, and lifting up to 75 pounds. • Able to wear a respirator and work safely with protective equipment. • Good vision (with corrective lenses if necessary) to perform detailed inspections, read instructions, and safely operate equipment. • Valid driver’s license, good MVR report, and must be 21 years of age or older to drive a company vehicle. • Valid passport is a plus. • Eligible to work in the U.S. or Canada (citizenship or legal work authorization required). • Must successfully pass a criminal background check and maintain a drug-free status. • GWO BST (Basic Safety Training) – fire awareness, working at heights, manual handling, first aid is a plus. • GWO Blade Repair or Advanced Blade Repair certification is a plus. • GWO Slinger Signaller or Siemens Rigging Safety is a plus. • IRATA or SPRAT rope access experience and certification is a plus; certificate must be current, and candidate must be physically capable of performing rope access work safely. • OSHA 10 General Industry EHS Regional Compliance (preferred; assistance available to obtain certification). • SGRE Blade C or Blade D certification (preferred but not required). • Spot Paint Certification. • GE NAM Blade LOTO certificate.
