📋 Description

• Lead strategic sourcing and contract negotiations for software, cloud, infrastructure, consulting, and other technology suppliers • Develop category and sourcing strategies supporting the CTO, CISO, and CIO organizations • Manage relationships and performance programs for critical suppliers, including hyperscaler and cloud partners • Conduct spend analysis and market intelligence research, monitoring trends and supply chain risks • Develop category KPIs and performance metrics and present reports to senior leadership • Forecast demand and manage spend against category budgets with Finance Business Partners • Partner with executives and stakeholders to evaluate options and guide procurement decisions • Collaborate with Legal, Finance, Security, Information Technology, and other teams throughout the procurement lifecycle • Identify savings opportunities while balancing cost, risk, service quality, and business needs • Improve procurement and procure-to-pay processes and reduce cycle times • Explore practical uses of artificial intelligence in procurement, analysis, and negotiation preparation • Support GitLab’s technology organizations and critical suppliers with regular senior-leadership partnership

🎯 Requirements

• Experience in strategic sourcing, vendor management, and complex contract negotiation • Experience procuring software as a service, cloud infrastructure, or other technical products and services • Working knowledge of cloud hosting, infrastructure services, and commercial terms used in technology contracts • Understanding of procure-to-pay processes, systems, and procurement operations • Experience with Zip or similar procure-to-pay system is preferred • Ability to build trusted partnerships with executives and cross-functional stakeholders • Clear communication skills and judgment to explain complex commercial topics to different audiences • Collaborative, self-directed approach with willingness to lead discussions and support teammates • Experience in a software or technology business is preferred; relevant experience from other industries welcomed • 5–7 years of procurement experience, including at least 3 years in category management • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field • Strong financial acumen and analytical capabilities • Advanced project management skills • Proven track record of delivering measurable cost savings • Working hours aligned with stakeholders across Eastern through Pacific time zones
