📋 Description

• Carry minor litigation files, including Small Claims, Human Rights, etc. within licensed scope of practice • Draft and prepare pleadings, applications and other tribunal and court documents • Assist and support senior counsel in litigation claims • Prepare initial drafts of documents, including pleadings and affidavits of documents • Conduct case-specific legal research • Manage document productions • Assist with interviewing witnesses and assembling answers to undertakings • Draft and review contracts • Conduct legal research on commercial issues • Prepare initial drafts of internal policies and procedures • Develop playbooks and precedent library for contract drafting and review • Provide updates regarding legislative and regulatory developments • Assist Privacy Officer with access requests and non-compliance matters • Support Marketing Department by reviewing disclaimers and drafting contest rules

🎯 Requirements

• Licensed member of the Law Society of Ontario, in Paralegal Class P1, in good standing • Minimum 5-7 years’ experience as a paralegal handling matters before small claims courts or various tribunals • Strong research and writing skills • Excellent oral and written communication and advocacy skills • Strong research skills • Ability to work independently
