• Develop, socialize, and secure initial funding for a rolling portfolio of new strategic initiatives under GRID’s strategic plan • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with mission-aligned nonprofit organizations • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with mission-aligned businesses • Consult with internal teams on program development and funding opportunities • Collaborate with the policy team to identify opportunities to advance policies and support advocacy efforts • Engage in internal and external thought leadership with the communications team • Work with and sometimes supervise project-specific contractors • Complete occasional ad-hoc projects within the Strategic Development & Initiatives team and Policy & Programs Department
• At least five years of directly relevant experience deploying clean energy technologies with underserved communities • Demonstrated skills and successful track record securing large-scale governmental and/or philanthropic funding • Professional knowledge/experience with markets and technologies relevant to GRID’s strategic initiatives • Knowledge of and relationships with key individuals and organizations in the equitable clean energy deployment sector • Professional knowledge/experience with governmental policies and publicly-funded programs for deploying clean energy technologies with underserved communities • Excellent persuasive and explanatory communication skills across concept notes, presentations, emails, in-person communication, and funding proposals • Availability for occasional nights and weekends • Valid driver’s license and good driving record if using a personal vehicle for work travel • California hires must pass screening for specified illegal drugs
