📋 Description

• Support the advisory team with day-to-day federal financial management operations • Conduct technical accounting and financial reporting activities for a federal client • Research and analyze technical and general ledger accounting • Prepare federal financial statements and notes • Interpret and develop financial management regulatory and accounting guidance and procedural documents • Verify accounting functions and transactions, including fund balance with Treasury, accounts receivable, obligations, accrued expenditures, disbursements, refunds, reimbursable orders, earnings, collections, eliminations, and journal vouchers • Prepare and review accounting documents for accuracy, validity, expenditure limitation, and correct accounting data • Balance and maintain subsidiary ledgers • Perform reconciliations of unliquidated contractual obligations, fund balance with Treasury, accounts receivable, unfilled customer orders, and other USSGL accounts • Develop point papers, briefing materials, and graphical presentations, and present them to government personnel • Educate and inform management about financial and operational service delivery alternatives • Research and implement best practices to remediate audit findings and internal control deficiencies • Provide technical direction and guidance to lower-level personnel as applicable • Recommend improved operational and transactional business processes

🎯 Requirements

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD Public Trust; approved adjudication required prior to onboarding • Bachelor's Degree; four (4) years of additional professional experience may substitute for the Bachelor's Degree • Four (4) years of experience in accounting/financial management • Recognized as an expert in the specific field(s), with experience conducting studies, analyzing findings, making recommendations, and applying qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques • Knowledge of federal financial management programs, missions, organizations, work processes, and administrative support relationships • Experience with management improvement, productivity improvement, management controls, long-range planning, reorganizations, realignment of functions, manuals, and directives • CPA or other federal financial management/accounting certification is nice to have • Experience working directly with Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is nice to have • Willingness to learn and participate in business development activities and internal firm objectives
