📋 Description

• Handle legal matters assigned by the Senior Legal Counsel – Commercial Affairs. • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements and contracts for clients and suppliers in French and English. • Depending on experience, lead the structuring, drafting, review, negotiation, and closing of commercial and corporate transactions. • Create and maintain French and English agreement templates applicable in Québec. • Collaborate with the Legal and Compliance department and cross-functional teams to identify needs, advise internal clients, and support Harris’s growth. • Represent business unit needs when dealing with clients, suppliers, and partners; collaborate with external legal counsel during negotiations and dispute resolutions. • Monitor and identify legal trends and risks related to the Québec and federal legislative and regulatory environment. • Participate in developing and enhancing compliance programs relating to public-sector contracts and privacy laws.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor of Laws (LL.B. or equivalent) from a recognized law school. • Called to the Québec Bar and a member in good standing, with the right to practise law in Québec. • 0–3 years of experience in commercial or technology law in Québec, at a reputable law firm or as in-house counsel. • Ability to work independently with business units and complete tasks autonomously. • Excellent time-management skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities simultaneously. • Ability to analyze complex situations and data to assess risks, impacts, and next steps, while demonstrating curiosity and creativity in resolving a variety of issues. • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills, with an interest in being part of a close-knit legal team. • Knowledge of SaaS solutions, hosting, software licensing agreements, and Québec contract and obligations law. • Excellent oral and written proficiency in French and English. • Knowledge of Québec’s private-sector privacy legislation, Law 25, and applicable federal privacy laws.
