📋 Description

• Lead end-to-end proposal development for library system procurements, including ILS/LSP, discovery, digital resource management, and analytics • Analyze RFP requirements from libraries, consortia, and government entities to ensure complete compliance • Develop proposal strategies aligned to functionality, interoperability, accessibility, and total cost of ownership criteria • Manage timelines, schedules, and deliverables across cross-functional teams • Write and edit detailed RFP responses using Loopio and AI tools • Describe library functionality, discovery layers, interoperability, cloud architecture, hosting, security, and data privacy • Translate technical platform capabilities into outcomes for librarians, faculty, and patrons • Develop strategic messaging, win themes, executive summaries, and value narratives • Partner with Sales, Product, Engineering, Implementation, Support, Security, Professional Services, and other teams • Lead proposal kickoff meetings, review cycles, compliance checks, and content strategy • Maintain reusable library-technology content, case studies, templates, methodologies, and training approaches • Develop compliance matrices addressing functional requirements • Customize proposals for institutions and consortia • Support presentations, demos, and oral proposals to library stakeholders • Mentor junior writers on library-specific content and standards • Track proposal success metrics and support win/loss reviews in the library market segment

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Library Science, Information Systems, or related field • 5–10+ years of proposal writing experience, preferably in library technology, EdTech, or SaaS platforms serving public sector or education • Strong understanding of library operations and workflows • Strong understanding of metadata standards and interoperability • Strong understanding of cloud-based enterprise software solutions • Demonstrated experience responding to formal RFPs for public or academic institutions • Exceptional writing, editing, and project management skills • Preferred: Master’s degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) or related field • Preferred: Detailed knowledge of Symphony ILS • Preferred: Experience working directly with libraries (academic, public, or consortia) • Preferred: Familiarity with accessibility standards such as WCAG and public procurement requirements • Preferred: Knowledge of open access, digital collections, and linked data trends • Ability to communicate complex library technologies in clear, customer-focused language • Strong understanding of librarian personas and institutional decision-making processes • Strategic thinking with a focus on winning competitive procurements • High attention to detail and compliance rigor • Ability to manage multiple large-scale proposals simultaneously • Proficiency with Loopio, RFPIO, Qvidian, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Salesforce or equivalent, library systems and standards documentation, and AI tools
