📋 Description

• Inspect equipment for proper performance and determine faults and malfunctions. • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective components or systems to restore original manufacturer specifications. • Test repaired equipment to ensure proper operation. • Commission new equipment. • Complete accurate time records, technical reports, failure reports, and parts lists. • Stay current with industry, customer, product developments, and technical best practices. • Perform troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of mechanical and/or electrical aspects of surface mining equipment. • Provide training at customer sites. • Comply with safety policies and applicable regulations. • Identify and report unsafe work habits, incidents, and near misses; perform “Take Five” risk assessments. • Maintain hand tools, equipment, and an orderly work area. • Attend Environmental, Health and Safety training and wear required PPE. • Perform other duties assigned by the Manager.

🎯 Requirements

• Diploma or certificate in a mechanical/electrical field, or equivalent experience as a Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic. • Five (5) years of related experience with surface mining equipment. • Ability to work in both French and English. • Previous experience with Sandvik equipment is an asset. • Proficiency in reading hydraulic and electrical schematics. • Demonstrated ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical issues on mining equipment. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Office. • Valid driver’s license required, along with a willingness to travel to mine sites and across Canada as needed. • Ability and willingness to work varied shifts as required.
