📋 Description

• Manage Honeydew's Operations Experience engineering team, including contractors • Run regular 1:1s, provide direct feedback, and grow team members • Own team planning, delivery, efforts, and outputs • Participate in agile ceremonies and planning and design sessions for operations feature work • Keep the team shipping predictably and surface risks and tradeoffs early • Partner with Engineering Managers, Product Managers, and Product and Engineering leadership on feature plans and execution • Shape team structure, headcount, and hiring plan through 2027 • Establish team ownership milestones, including 1:1s, planning and delivery ownership, and written growth plans • Baseline cycle time, throughput, and deployment frequency, then improve at least two by 20% or more by day 180 • Inventory planned operations projects and required capacity • Create a written vision for team structure, headcount, and hiring plan

🎯 Requirements

• Proven track record of giving direct feedback, managing performance including underperformance, and growing engineers across seniority levels and employment models • Clear communication up and down • Ability to turn priorities into a plan and keep the team shipping predictably • Ability to surface risks and tradeoffs early • Ability to collaborate across multiple teams and verticals • Technical depth sufficient to understand systems, judge technical tradeoffs, maintain quality standards, and earn the respect of senior engineers • 3+ years of experience managing an engineering team (nice-to-have) • Experience with React, Node, AWS, and SQL (nice-to-have) • Player-coach mentality and willingness to code (nice-to-have) • Authorization to work for any employer in the United States without restriction • Visa sponsorship status requirement
