📋 Description

• Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise virtualization environments using VMware vSphere/ESXi, Hyper-V, or similar, plus Microsoft Azure-hosted virtual infrastructure • Provision, configure, and manage Windows Server and Linux virtual machines for production, test, and development workloads • Monitor infrastructure performance and capacity and resolve compute and storage bottlenecks • Apply patches, security updates, and firmware upgrades to hypervisors, guest operating systems, and supporting hardware • Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, File/Print services, and standard Linux administration tasks • Design and maintain backup, replication, and disaster recovery processes; participate in DR testing and documentation • Support and maintain SAN/NAS storage systems related to virtualization infrastructure • Maintain system diagrams, standard operating procedures, and configuration standards • Respond to infrastructure incidents and perform troubleshooting and root-cause analysis • Automate routine infrastructure tasks using PowerShell, Bash, Ansible, or similar tools • Collaborate with security, networking, and application teams on compliance, availability, and performance requirements • Evaluate and recommend tools, platforms, and practices to improve infrastructure reliability and efficiency • Complete other special projects and duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience considered • 3+ years of hands-on experience administering enterprise virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere/ESXi, Microsoft Hyper-V, or equivalent) • Solid working knowledge of Windows Server and Linux server administration in a production environment • Experience with enterprise backup and disaster recovery solutions for virtualized environments • Understanding of core networking concepts (VLANs, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, load balancing) as they apply to virtualized infrastructure • Familiarity with storage technologies (SAN/NAS, iSCSI, NFS) in a virtualized context • Experience with scripting or automation tools (PowerShell, Bash, Ansible, or similar) for infrastructure management • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to document processes clearly for a distributed team • Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure administration sufficient to support hybrid on-premises/Azure infrastructure • Extended computer and display screen equipment usage • Ability to read and interpret materials, verbally communicate, and hear required
