📋 Description

• Support Interstates with a variety of tasks and projects, gaining hands-on experience in industrial electrical design and construction • Work alongside seasoned professionals and develop an electrical construction vocabulary • Participate in real projects and current initiatives with project teams • Collect equipment data and review information representing project scope • Record design decisions in InterTrak to facilitate design drawings and equipment specifications • Use 2D and 3D drafting software to develop electrical drawings • Use software to communicate project updates to team members and clients • Travel to job sites or shops and work alongside craft or manufacturing teams • Network within Interstates industries to promote the Interstates brand and engineering services • Complete discipline-specific work in Studies, Power, PDP, Controls, Instrumentation, or Field • Use SKM for power system models and Arc Flash, Coordination, and Short Circuit analysis • Develop electrical distribution plans and drawings using AutoCAD and Revit • Develop constructible plans, 3D BIM models, and installation or manufacturing documents • Design automation control panels, PLC and Remote I/O panels, and low-voltage motor control panels • Design electrical schematics and wiring diagrams • Evaluate P&IDs and size/select industrial measurement and control devices • Gather field information and validate project designs

🎯 Requirements

• 0-4 years of electrical experience/education • Be working towards an engineering degree • Candidates pursuing a drafting degree from a technical college will be considered • Good communication (verbal, written, listening) and teamwork skills • Knowledge of, or interest in, manufacturing, industrial, and electrical systems • Ability to work with superintendents, engineers, estimators, and customers • Travel may be required and will vary according to business requirements and internship
