📋 Description

• Design, prototype, and evaluate LLM/NLP solutions, including text classification, entity extraction, semantic search, summarization, and other NLP/AI applications • Translate successful prototypes into production-ready, clean, modular, maintainable, and well-tested code • Apply object-oriented design and software engineering practices • Analyze existing codebases, data pipelines, and applications to determine what to preserve, improve, consolidate, or redesign • Explore, prepare, transform, and analyze data independently using Databricks • Collaborate with data engineering and application development teams to integrate Databricks, data pipelines, models, and application services • Participate in technical discussions and architectural decisions • Establish development practices that improve reliability, scalability, testing, and maintainability • Translate business requirements into practical technical solutions with engineering, data, and leadership teams • Move AI and data science initiatives from early-stage experimentation to reliable production solutions • Build scalable data pipelines, reusable machine learning capabilities, and maintainable software for Irth’s products and industries

🎯 Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in data science, machine learning, or ML engineering, including production-quality code beyond notebooks • Master’s degree or equivalent professional experience in data science, machine learning, computer science, statistics, or a related field • Strong foundation in statistics and modeling methodologies • Hands-on experience with NLP and/or LLM-based solutions • Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) • Embeddings and similarity search, including cosine similarity • Hybrid search combining BM25 and semantic search • Text deduplication using fuzzy matching and MinHash • Text classification and Named Entity Recognition (NER) • Search re-ranking • Prompt engineering • Strong proficiency in Python, including pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch, and relevant ML libraries • Object-oriented programming, clean code, and software design principles • Statistical methods including exploratory data analysis, hypothesis testing, and statistical modeling • Hands-on experience with Databricks or a comparable data/analytics platform • Understanding of the machine learning lifecycle: training, evaluation, deployment, and production monitoring for model drift and data quality • Experience designing and developing REST APIs • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Nice-to-have: large-scale unstructured text data, media monitoring, web scraping, or APIs • Nice-to-have: communications, public relations, media, or related industry experience • Nice-to-have: vector databases/stores, RAG frameworks, and NLP model fine-tuning • Nice-to-have: MLflow or similar tools • Nice-to-have: TypeScript and Node.js • Nice-to-have: CI/CD and version control, including Git or GitHub Actions
