📋 Description

• Build and continuously improve Berry Law's legal quality management system for VA appeals • Report defects and identify systemic quality issues • Conduct independent quality reviews of randomly selected appeals • Review all appeals from new attorneys for the first 15 days after training • Ensure compliance with Berry Law's Quality Standards and prevent critical defects before filing • Analyze defects and determine root causes • Report defects to the VA Commander for corrective actions • Conduct quarterly legal writing workshops, appellate advocacy training, and calibration exercises • Maintain QC Standards, QC Scorecards, Defect Database, Writing Guides, Approved Authority Library, Template Library, and future AI Prompt Library • Review and report on precedential cases and update quality resources as necessary • Ensure legal writing is concise, accurate, persuasive, professional, easy to read, and strategically organized • Assign root cause, corrective action, owner, and deadline for significant defects and report them to the VA Commander and assigned Platoon Leader • Maintain dashboards tracking defect rates, recurring defects, attorney trends, department trends, and quality improvement over time • Conduct weekly audits of appeals and appeal forms • Conduct monthly audits of templates, AI output, and SOP compliance • Require Platoon Leader review before filing when necessary • Place attorneys on enhanced QC review • Update templates and checklists after consulting with the VA Commander • Recommend training changes and escalate recurring quality issues to the CEO • Recommend attorney and case manager termination directly to the VA Commander

🎯 Requirements

• Licensed attorney • 5+ years of appellate or litigation experience • Exceptional legal writing ability • Extensive VA appellate experience • Strong analytical skills • Excellent judgment • Former appellate clerk preferred • Former law review editor preferred • Former legal writing professor preferred • Experience implementing quality management systems preferred
