• Responsible for the design and modeling of mechanical components to interface with optical elements • Design and model the mechanical means to mount and position these elements in an optical system • Develop detailed drawings of optical elements and overall optical system, as well as fabrication and assembly drawings • Conduct analysis and evaluation of design concepts to produce realistic assessment of risks • Support trade studies
• T/SCI Secret Clearance • Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of experience or equivalent with total 7+ years of related experience • Specific knowledge related to the mechanical design mounts and modeling of opto-mechanical systems. • Proficient in CAD software (Solid Works, NX) • Ability to work all phases of opto-mechanical subsystems from conceptual design layout to system level assembly and interface drawings (ICD) • Develop assembly and test procedures and support all levels of optical subsystem integration and tests • Prior experience with NASA or related to space flight hardware
