📋 Description

• Lead electrical design progression from preliminary design through IFC and construction phases • Review and validate conductor schedules, equipment specifications and layouts, monitoring and communication systems, grounding, string layouts, voltage drop calculations, and related deliverables • Serve as electrical design and constructability subject matter expert for utility-scale solar and BESS projects • Provide technical guidance to internal teams, engineering partners, vendors, and subcontractors • Collaborate with Engineering, Preconstruction, Estimating, Procurement, and Operations teams • Conduct electrical design reviews at 30%, 90%, IFC, and construction-phase milestones • Identify and resolve risks, gaps, and inconsistencies in electrical design packages • Evaluate design decisions for constructability, installation efficiency, equipment availability, code compliance, customer requirements, and cost impacts • Interface with customers, developers, AHJs, engineering firms, regulatory agencies, vendors, and subcontractors • Support permitting and regulatory coordination • Provide construction-phase technical support, including field issues, design clarifications, RFI responses, change impacts, and installation concerns • Maintain project electrical files, drawings, documents, records, and design information • Improve electrical design processes, standards, templates, and lessons learned • Balance multiple complex projects and design priorities • Travel to project sites as needed to review conditions, coordinate design, resolve field issues, and validate electrical systems

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent education/experience • 1–2 years of experience in solar or power systems design • Working knowledge of NEC and renewable energy standards • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, PVCase, and Microsoft Office • Strong communication and organizational skills • Valid driver’s license and clean driving history • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check • Ability to sit, stand, kneel, stoop, and walk for long periods • Ability to work in hot, cold, or wet conditions • Ability to lift and carry up to 80 lbs. • Ability to dig and back-fill trenches
