📋 Description

• Perform detailed in-process and final inspections on machined parts, composite components, and complex aerospace assemblies • Support Supplier Quality Engineers with First Article Inspection (FAI) activities • Review Supplier End Item Data Packages (EIDPs) for completeness and compliance • Issue turn-backs for product or data nonconformances preventing acceptance • Apply GD&T principles to validate product conformity and inspection coverage • Use calipers, micrometers, height gages, comparators, visual aids, and other precision measurement instruments • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications • Collaborate with Supplier Quality Engineers and Quality Managers to resolve nonconformances and support corrective actions • Drive continuous improvement to reduce line rejections and turn-backs • Support domestic supplier inspections and training travel, sometimes on short notice • Ensure compliance with internal procedures, customer requirements, and industry and regulatory standards • Participate in supplier daily and weekly Work-in-Process (WIP) meetings • Perform product acceptance under stamp warranty authority • Conduct electronic data reviews and occasional backfill source inspection support

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; or a graduate degree and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of related experience • Minimum of six years of quality inspection experience in aerospace or within a highly regulated industry • Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles and applications • Experience inspecting complex assemblies, machined components, and composite structures • Knowledge of inspection methods, processes, and documentation practices • Ability to use precision measurement instruments, hand tools, and visual inspection aids • Ability to read, interpret, and apply engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications • Effective verbal and written communication skills • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook • Ability and willingness to travel within the United States, occasionally on short notice • Experience reviewing supplier documentation, including Certificates of Conformance, material certifications, NDT reports, and detailed inspection records • Experience reviewing NDT certifications, such as FPI and Radiography, preferred • Advanced GD&T knowledge preferred • Aerospace supplier quality or source inspection experience preferred • Familiarity with nonconformance documentation, corrective action processes, and supplier quality management systems preferred • Experience performing independent product acceptance under stamp warranty authority preferred • Working knowledge of AS9100, AS9102, and AS9120 preferred • ASQ (CQI) certification or Six Sigma training/certification strongly preferred • Knowledge of IPC-J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610 requirements preferred • Borescope inspection experience preferred
