📋 Description

• Design and coordinate safe, technically accurate, cost-effective power distribution and electrical systems for station facilities and lodging. • Lead MV/LV power distribution designs, including power generation, microgrids, and renewable energy integration. • Serve as Engineer of Record (PE) for electrical project submittals and technical reviews. • Coordinate communication among engineering, design, and program teams to maintain quality and consistent technical drawing/design packages. • Execute project schedules while maintaining quality and meeting project goals. • Produce construction-ready documentation using industry-standard design methods. • Develop electrical sizing calculations for systems, equipment, and cables. • Define specifications and select electrical equipment according to performance criteria. • Integrate packaged equipment into overall system designs. • Develop detailed design drawings, including single-line diagrams, load lists, plans, details, wiring diagrams, panel schedules, and fabrication drawings. • Apply applicable industry codes and standards, including IBC, API, NEC, NFPA, and ANSI/IEEE. • Evaluate ETAP or SKM third-party risk assessments and studies, including short-circuit, coordination, and arc-flash analyses. • Work with engineering support leads, technical disciplines, and operational clients.

🎯 Requirements

• Recognized Bachelor’s degree from an ABET accredited college in Electrical Engineering. • Professional licensure in Electrical Engineering. • Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant professional experience. • US citizenship required. • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance before starting. • Successful completion of NSF-required physical and dental examinations for Antarctic deployment. • Demonstrated knowledge of Electrical Engineering principles, procedures, design guides, standards, administrative practices, engineering systems and calculations, statistical analysis, engineering methods, and technology-aided engineering tools. • Knowledge of instrumentation controls and automation. • Knowledge of hazard analysis programs such as ETAP and SKM to assess third-party analyses and recommendations. • Ability to communicate engineering solutions verbally, visually, and in writing to management, customers, peers, and craft personnel. • Preferred Electrical Engineering PE with Power emphasis. • Experience with electrical design in extremely cold environments or remote regions. • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word. • Knowledge of CAD design packages including Revit. • Ability to present to audiences with varied knowledge levels and learning styles.
