📋 Description

• Design and build systems enabling engineers to deploy dozens of times per day, including Buildkite CI/CD pipelines, per-PR ephemeral environments, and IaC-managed AWS infrastructure • Create self-serve developer experiences, including local development tooling, templates, golden paths, and CI-integrated workflows • Pioneer tooling and best practices for AI-first software engineering, including background agents and frameworks for self-optimizing AI product experiences • Extend internal TypeScript tooling, including schema/code generation and data access libraries • Make the platform observable and self-healing using Datadog, effective alerting, and incident blast-radius reduction • Bake security into infrastructure and developer tooling defaults • Solve scaling problems involving Aurora PostgreSQL, Kafka throughput, and cost-efficient compute autoscaling • Own and evolve AWS infrastructure using Terraform and Pulumi Cloud • Design and maintain internal developer tooling and shared libraries • Create and maintain golden paths for services, background jobs, event streams, and APIs • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and ephemeral environments • Drive reliability through SLOs, autoscaling, incident response, and postmortems • Create observability tooling and shared instrumentation libraries • Enforce security practices across IAM, secrets management, encryption, audit logging, and DDoS protection • Own Aurora PostgreSQL provisioning, backups, failover, and performance tuning • Reduce engineering toil through automation and self-service tooling • Contribute to architecture decisions and documentation • Participate in the shared engineering on-call rotation

🎯 Requirements

• Experience building internal platforms or developer tooling, such as code generation, CLIs, templates, shared SDKs, or frameworks • Strong TypeScript skills and API design experience • Deep AWS experience across compute, networking, storage, and security, including ECS, Lambda, VPC, ALB, IAM, RDS, ElastiCache, MSK, OpenSearch, S3, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and GuardDuty • Strong Terraform and/or Pulumi proficiency, including modules, workspaces, and CI-driven plan/apply workflows • Experience designing and operating CI/CD systems for frequent, reliable deployments • Experience building production observability stacks using Datadog, CloudWatch, Sentry, distributed tracing, and SLOs • Experience building secure, reliable paved roads and safe-by-default deployment patterns • Security-first approach to infrastructure hardening • Aurora PostgreSQL operations at scale, including backups, PITR, failover, read replicas, and query tuning • Comfort with Docker and container orchestration environments • Reliability engineering knowledge, including SLOs, error budgets, and incident response • Curiosity about infrastructure demands of AI and LLM workloads • Strong written communication and documentation skills • Authorization to work in the United States
