📋 Description

• Review plan member or dependent coverage and eligibility • Confirm contract provisions in effect for each claim • Verify enrolment and beneficiary information • Review proof of death documents • Review supporting medical, police, and investigative reports • Calculate eligible benefits • Prepare claims system records required to record and pay claims • Communicate decisions to claimants, beneficiaries, and group clients • Assist plan sponsors with beneficiary appointment and claim submission queries • Support beneficiaries and family members in acquiring necessary documentation • Report to the Associate Manager, Life Claims • Assess Group Life, AD&D, Survivor Income claims, and Compassionate Assistance Program Loans

🎯 Requirements

• Experience in the insurance industry, preferably in Group Benefits and Life/Disability claims • Knowledge of medical terminology and contract interpretation • Strong communication, judgment, analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills • Ability to demonstrate empathy and provide exceptional client service • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel) • Proven ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and work independently or collaboratively • Adaptable, risk-aware, and able to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment • Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset; if the successful candidate is in Québec, proficiency in both languages will be required to support clients from various provinces outside of Quebec
