📋 Description

• Diagnose diseases and determine causes of death in companion animals and laboratory animals. • Examine tissues, body fluids, and hematologic samples. • Prepare diagnostic reports summarizing cytology, hematology, and clinical pathology results. • Dictate medical assessments using Dragon software or other dictation tools. • Advise veterinarians regarding diseases identified in analyzed tissues and fluids. • Participate in pathology clinical rounds every two weeks. • Provide scientific and technical guidance to laboratory staff and veterinarians on specimen collection and submission. • Maintain up-to-date knowledge in veterinary medicine and clinical pathology.

🎯 Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited Canadian veterinary faculty, a DVM/VMD from an accredited U.S. institution, or an equivalent recognized qualification. • Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists (ACVP), or board-eligible for ACVP certification. • Hold a valid veterinary license or be eligible to obtain one, according to the requirements of the province or state where duties will be performed, including Quebec’s Ordre des médecins vétérinaires du Québec (OMVQ), if applicable. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Analytical mindset, creativity, and strong attention to detail. • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively. • Strong interest in animal health and customer service. • Organized and able to manage multiple cases simultaneously in a dynamic environment. • Laboratory experience is an asset. • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships with clients and management teams. • Ability to work effectively remotely with minimal supervision. • Experience with Dragon software is an asset. • Experience with DICOM viewing software is an asset. • Excellent command of English, both spoken and written.
