📋 Description

• Working as part of a small team the role involves investigating and reconstructing road traffic collisions and producing Court compliant reports. Investigations will typically involve: • - Examination of vehicles, images, and documentation and use of traditional collision investigation techniques to consider issues of liability, damage consistency, fraud, and claims validation. • - Reading and analysing vehicle data • - Documentary evidence reviews, witness statements, police reports etc • - Literature reviews and consideration of published research • - Preparing detailed and technically accurate reports. • As an expert witness, court attendance may be necessary as well as meetings and discussions with clients and barristers. • We receive instructions from solicitors, insurance companies, manufacturers and the general public. • The role is office (Preston) or home based.

🎯 Requirements

• The role will be open to individuals who either demonstrate the qualifications and ability to carry out the role with the appropriate training, or to those who already have the necessary experience to satisfy the requirements. • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in an engineering, science, or physics-related discipline or demonstration of the equivalent level of learning. • Can demonstrate a practical knowledge of collision investigation and experience in a relevant field. • Hold a full clean driving licence (category B) • **Desirable Qualifications or willingness to achieve:** • Incorporated or Chartered Engineer Status (e.g., MIET, IEng, CEng, or industry-specific recognition such as MITAI) • Specific Collision Investigation Qualifications (UCPD, Cert HE or equivalent) • Full driving licence with additional category endorsements obtained through further training • **Beneficial Experience:** • Collision investigation • Vehicle examinations • Vehicle downloads (e.g. Bosch CDR) • Body Shop or Vehicle Mechanic • Court attendance • **Personal attributes:** • Ability to work unsupervised and demonstrate self-motivation • Effective management of own workload • Produce high quality evidence-based reports tailored for diverse audiences including clients and the Court • Consistently manage and meet deadlines • Willingness to engage in continuous learning and regular Continued Professional Development (CPD) activities • Strong aptitude and enthusiasm for problem solving
