📋 Description

• Own the collections function end-to-end, including monitoring at-risk accounts, outreach strategy, escalation and intervention workflows, charge-offs, and recovery • Manage and improve collections operations by refining playbooks, escalation criteria, and tooling across credit products • Own collections policy and procedure documentation across credit products and ensure operations are exam-ready for regulatory review • Partner with Legal and Compliance on compliant, documented, and defensible collections practices • Define and report collections performance metrics, including delinquency, recovery, and operational efficiency • Own the operational layer across IO credit product variants, including manual workflows, document collection, credit bureau pulls, and application throughput • Standardize underwriting processes and reduce variance in decisions and documentation • Monitor pipeline health, manage bottlenecks, reduce manual burden, and increase throughput • Partner with Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Legal/Compliance as the operational lead • Define and own underwriting operations KPIs, including approval rates, turnaround times, and application quality • Lead credit memo and approval workflows for complex underwriting intakes • Own post-origination portfolio monitoring, real-time alert management, and identification of deteriorating accounts • Define portfolio health KPIs and own escalation protocols and playbooks for common risk events

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in credit operations, underwriting, portfolio management, or collections • Prior experience in a highly regulated financial services environment • Direct exposure to bank charter processes, regulatory examinations, or policy/procedure documentation is a strong plus • Ability to organize, instrument, and scale credit operations with clear metrics and ownership • Strong judgment in ambiguous situations, including escalation, streamlining, and risk decisions • Track record of managing and developing early-career team members • Ability to work across Engineering, Data Science, and Legal/Compliance • Comfort with SQL or similar tools to pull and interpret operational data or establish operational flows and alerting independently is preferred • Experience with SMB credit, fintech lending products, credit cards, or capital products is required • Curiosity about AI tools for improving operational efficiency is a plus
