📋 Description

• Take inbound calls from patients, attorneys, insurance companies and vendors • Make outbound follow-up calls and calls to assist in resolution of accounts • Respond to written inquiries from patients, attorneys, insurance companies and vendors • Assist with account resolution by discussing payment and financial assistance options • Process and input patient data and fulfill document requests • Maintain performance and quality standards, including aiding in prevention of abandoned calls • Ensure compliance with confidential data, including HIPAA compliance • De-escalate patient complaints related to current or past-due services and/or balances • Research the patient accounting system to assist patients with questions about previous visits • Work under the direction of the Customer Service Manager and escalate issues to team leads or functional caregivers as appropriate • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• High school diploma required • 1 year of customer service experience required • Associate's degree preferred • 1 year of healthcare office experience preferred • Clear and concise communication; good hand-eye coordination • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Professional rapport with caregivers • Friendly, courteous and helpful customer service behavior • Ability to continuously operate computer, telephone, fax and copier equipment • Ability to sit, walk and stand • Ability to analyze and interpret data • Excellent short-term and long-term memory • Ability to multitask and follow system policies and procedures • Ability to visually assess paper and electronic data, hear telephone communications and converse • Self-starter with excellent organizational skills • Ability to assess and respond appropriately to emergency situations • Ability to comprehend medical terminology • Analytical skills to resolve complex problems using scientific, mathematical or technical principles • Knowledge and experience with information systems, Internet usage, spreadsheet and word-processing software • Ability to work independently and manage workload to productivity standards • Availability for varied schedules, including weekend and evening coverage
