📋 Description

• Direct a geographically distributed team of engineers improving the Firefox Desktop experience • Drive initiatives delivering high-quality, highly available, monitored, and maintainable software • Help the team navigate trade-offs and align fast delivery with thoughtful long-term approaches across browser user experiences • Communicate team goals, project scope and risks, and own initiative delivery against clear timelines • Identify, build, and iterate on engineering processes supporting a high-performing team • Conduct regular one-on-ones covering technical work and professional development • Provide direct and honest performance feedback • Support and empower developers throughout the developer lifecycle • Create an inclusive environment that engages and challenges team members • Collaborate with Product, UX, QA, Operations, and Data Science teams

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years leading engineers in a software development environment and working across multiple distributed teams • Software engineering background enabling technical decisions and engagement with engineers at all levels to triage, prioritize, and implement • Experience leading multiple concurrent projects • Previous experience working on frontend platform initiatives such as design systems and frontend architectural improvements • Track record of delivering front-end experiences to user-facing products • Hands-on experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS • Proven track record leading and shipping sophisticated user-facing experiences on time, using data to inform timelines • Strong communication and ability to develop positive relationships with others • Ability to resolve problems, manage risk, lead change, and facilitate collaborative decision-making • Experience communicating with senior leadership and advocating for engineering priorities • Desire to grow and learn as a manager, develop others, and get results through others • Ability to hire, mentor, empower, develop, and delegate to geographically distributed team members • Commitment to Mozilla values: welcoming differences, being relationship-minded, practicing responsible participation, and having grit
