MTC emphasizes product testing, code alignment, and on‑demand availability (manufacturing in Canada and the US) for commercial, industrial, and residential mass timber projects.

📋 Description

• Create, maintain, and update design guides, white papers, and engineering resources • Interpret test results and research findings to produce design parameters and engineering tables • Apply relevant design standards, including CSA O86, NDS, Eurocode 5, and AS/NZS, and document assumptions and limits • Collaborate with R&D, Marketing, Technical Service, Business Development, and external research partners • Develop and maintain calculation spreadsheets and digital engineering tools, including Cadwork plugins or software tools • Identify gaps or ambiguities in existing resources and propose improvements • Lead technical documentation and engineering resource projects from planning through publication • Coordinate priorities, schedules, deliverables, and stakeholder input across teams • Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers • Contribute to improving engineering standards, processes, and documentation practices • Interpret R&D data and implement it in design documentation • Maintain and improve MTC Solutions’ library of design documents

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Timber Engineering (or equivalent background) • 5–10 years of engineering experience • Professional Engineer (P.Eng. or PE) designation, or eligibility for registration • Experience managing technical projects involving multiple stakeholders • Experience developing engineering resources, design guides, specifications, calculation tools, or technical publications is considered an asset • Experience in timber engineering, structural connections, mass timber, or building products is considered an asset • Strong understanding of CSA O86, NDS, Eurocode 5, or similar design standards • Excellent project management, communication, and organizational skills • Strong technical writing and analytical skills • Ability to work independently and drive projects to completion • Proficiency in English required
