• Provide field access support services and education to Healthcare Professionals to maximize patient access and accelerate time to treatment • Communicate with Specialty Pharmacies, Closed Door Pharmacies including Genoa, and Patient-Physician Services HUB partner for U.S. marketed products • Build and uphold the pharmacy distribution network by conducting vetting activities within assigned geography, including approval, denial and removal communications • Support and educate HCP entities on coverage issues, access support services, processes, forms and patient financial support programs • Serve as subject matter expert on regional and national payer coverage policies and processes • Work cross-functionally with field sales, network pharmacies, market access, commercial analytics, operations and Payer Marketing • Build relationships with pharmacies, physicians, office staff and other HCPs to resolve coverage problems for prescriptions already in process • Train and educate HCPs on payer-specific coverage policies, documentation requirements, appeals processes and patient financial assistance programs • Introduce electronic Patient Access submission technology such as CoverMyMeds and support prior authorization, letters of medical necessity, appeals, step edits and formulary exception requests • Problem-solve and conduct case resolution for coverage and patient access issues • Identify and communicate payer issues with National Account Directors • Interface with local closed-door and long-term-care pharmacies • Communicate opportunities and challenges related to patient access issues to management • Present payer coverage insights at internal business reviews and national/regional sales meetings • Conduct Patient Access workshops during POA meetings and assist with new-hire training • Monitor pharmacy distribution processes, propose workflow strategies and share specialty distribution best practices • Promote a diverse and inclusive environment free from discrimination and harassment • Perform other duties as assigned
• BS/BA degree in related field AND 6+ years of pharma/biotech commercial experience, with 2+ years of experience with specialty pharmacy/market access; OR Master’s degree or MBA and 4+ years of related experience; OR PharmD or PhD and 2+ years of related experience • Specialty product experience, with CNS preferred • Strong understanding of specialty pharmacies, managed care, pharmacy benefit managers and government payers • Excellent working knowledge of patient support programs, reimbursement support and financial assistance adherence programs • Strong understanding of prescription adjudication process • Ability to communicate payer coverage criteria and prior authorization processes • Understanding of current issues within the marketplace, pharmaceutical industry and national health care system • Ability to travel overnight up to 60% • Knowledge of best practices in the functional discipline and related business disciplines • Ability to improve tools and processes within functional area • Ability to work as part of and lead multiple teams • Leadership skill and ability, typically leading lower levels and/or indirect teams • Excellent computer skills • Excellent communication, problem-solving and analytical thinking skills • Ability to meet multiple deadlines across projects with accuracy and efficiency • Excellent project management skills and ability to work in a cross-functional environment and handle multiple tasks • Excellent interpersonal skills and cross-functional team success
