📋 Description

• Own the architecture of the ingestion and integration platform • Set patterns for quickly and safely onboarding new data sources • Define technical direction for event-driven and batch processing across the company • Make build-versus-buy and migration decisions • Establish standards for observability, data freshness, and failure handling • Lead design across data engineering, infrastructure, and product teams • Raise engineers’ effectiveness through design review, mentorship, and code contributions • Identify and drive resolution of unscoped platform problems • Shape the technical direction of the data systems team and collaborate with business leaders

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of software or data engineering experience, including significant time owning the architecture of large-scale ingestion, ETL, or integration platforms • Deep proficiency in Python • Strong SQL and cloud data warehouse experience (BigQuery or equivalent) • Track record of designing API-based ETL systems at scale, including REST, GraphQL, webhooks, authentication, and multi-tenancy • Production depth with orchestration (Airflow or similar) • Production depth with containerized infrastructure (Docker, Kubernetes) • Demonstrated technical leadership • Experience mentoring engineers and elevating engineering practice across a team or organization • Sound judgment about platform durability versus speed of delivery • Ability to work with data spanning ad platforms, order management systems, and real-time event collection • Detailed understanding of authentication mechanisms (OAuth 2.0, API keys, secrets management) and secure multi-tenant architectures • Experience with ERP systems, CRMs, CDPs, or complex enterprise data tools and APIs • Exposure to event-driven architectures and real-time data processing tools • Knowledge of data governance, GDPR, SOC2, and security best practices for sensitive data • Experience in a multi-tenant SaaS or large-scale data-intensive environment
