• Lead major accounts and improve market access for Novartis’ product portfolio • Implement brand strategies with key national and regional customers to achieve targets and gain market share • Manage relationships with senior partners at target accounts • Understand account needs and develop mutually advantageous solutions • Craft and execute business plans for priority accounts • Understand customer needs from departments to C-suite and anticipate business-impacting trends • Develop strategic approaches aligned with Novartis goals and account needs • Lead strategy and execution before and during product launch • Coordinate collaboration among headquarters, account, and regional leadership teams • Engage account executives at C-suite and D-suite levels • Serve as the main oncology contact for Novartis account partners • Foster cross-functional teamwork and proactively solve problems and remove obstacles • Own account performance and drive meaningful results • Facilitate communication between Novartis, key accounts, internal teams, Customer Engagement executives, and other Novartis sectors • Manage several high-priority accounts, including at least one complex, highly visible account with major influence on Novartis Oncology • Complete required initial field-role training, including home study
• Bachelor’s degree required from 4-year college or university • 10+ years’ experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, or similarly structured industries with large, geographically dispersed teams • Experience inclusive of at least 2 different types of cross-functional roles and/or experiences • 2+ years in project management and translation of strategy into execution • 2+ years leading complex projects requiring cross-functional and national alignment • Track record of exceptional performance and execution that drives results • Strong influencing skills • Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy in stressful situations • Candidate must reside within the territory or within a reasonable daily commuting distance of 100 miles from the territory border • Ability to travel 60–80% over a broad geography • Ability to drive and/or fly within the territory • Must have a valid, fully valid, and unrestricted driver’s license • 3+ years in account management covering Academic Medical Centers, Integrated Health Systems, GPOs, and/or large community oncology integrated networks (desirable) • Experience working within the oncology therapeutic area (desirable) • Company will not sponsor visas for this position
