📋 Description

• Own UX definition for a product area, including user needs, interactions, and rationale • Partner with Product to translate user goals into interface elements and behavior • Make and clearly articulate quality-versus-speed trade-offs to keep releases moving • Meet users, map workflows, and document the human and organizational context of their work • Own pattern decisions for the product area and contribute to Onebrief's broader design language and system • Evaluate and deliberately apply emerging AI UX patterns • Combine traditional design foundations with AI-native workflows across different fidelities • Document design intent through visual representations and written documentation for human collaborators and agentic tools • Build expertise in military planners' real-world workflows • Collaborate with Product and Engineering and present solutions and trade-offs that move projects forward

🎯 Requirements

• Track record independently owning UX definition for a product area or workflow end-to-end, from understanding user needs through shipped interface decisions • Expertise in foundational UX/UI concepts and practices • Concrete experience articulating quality-versus-speed and scope-versus-fidelity trade-offs • Experience conducting direct user research and workflow mapping, and documenting findings for others • Led strategic and tactical implementation of at least one major AI-based workflow in a SaaS application • Knowledge of emerging AI UX patterns and a process for evaluating their application to use cases • Advanced user of AI design tools • Intermediate-level knowledge of how foundational models work and their tradeoffs • Experience contributing to or codifying design system and pattern decisions beyond one's own project • Understanding of accessibility and interaction design fundamentals • Active, contributing member of the design systems community • Track record of advancing team workflows or AI-enabled production practices
