📋 Description

• Contact patients or their designees to collect accurate coverage information • Use integrated health information systems and telephone technology to facilitate customer interactions • Search for patients accurately in the EPIC database to reduce duplicate patient records • Assess patients’ financial ability to pay for services and refer them to financial counseling staff when appropriate • Send eligibility requests to payors to verify accurate and current coverage • Maintain working relationships with medical staff, referring physicians, and their designees • Provide customer service while maintaining confidentiality in accordance with the Office of Compliance and HIPAA • Alert management to problems with systems and workflow • Create estimates, provide financial liability education, and collect copayments and deposits as necessary • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• High school diploma/GED with 1+ years of experience in insurance, healthcare, or related field • Excellent customer service skills, enthusiasm, and compassion • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills • High level of interpersonal skills for handling sensitive and confidential situations • Ability to establish effective working relationships with patients, physicians, team members, and others throughout the organization • Attendance, promptness, professionalism, attention to detail, cooperativeness, and politeness • Ability to escalate issues if necessary • Experience with PC applications including MS Office and Internet • Ability to maintain employer training requirements
