• Align a multidisciplinary team of artists and developers to create and maintain an appealing art style that reinforces the game's creative direction and delights players. • Collaborate with art directors, the gameplay director, and the creative director at our publishing partner. • Realize and support the creative vision for character design. • Work closely with teams responsible for visual effects, lighting, and user interface. • Ensure that external art production partners receive clear, timely feedback. • Filter and consolidate feedback before presenting work to our publishing partner. • Mentor and develop the capabilities of internal and external art teams. • Use data such as pulse checks and satisfaction surveys to guide decision-making. • Propose thoughtful solutions and recommendations.
• Experience creating and shipping at least one AAA game from start to finish. • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). • A strong portfolio demonstrating a high level of artistic creativity in one or more game art disciplines and across varied styles. • Broad understanding of the entire asset creation process, with fluency across disciplines to provide effective feedback. • Strong 2D skills and concept drawing ability. • Extensive knowledge of Photoshop. • Strong understanding of current 3D modeling techniques. • Excellent knowledge of standard high-density modeling and sculpting tools (Maya, 3ds Max, ZBrush, Photoshop or equivalents). • Technical mindset with experience implementing assets in game engines. • Understanding of fundamental art theory, including composition principles, design elements, and anatomy. • Proven ability to balance aesthetics, performance, and usability. • Experience managing a team of developers across multiple disciplines. • Good spoken and written English skills. • Familiarity with Photoshop, standard 3D modeling software (Maya, 3ds Max, Blender), ZBrush, Illustrator, and presentation tools. • 8–10+ years of experience in AAA console and PC game development, including prior leadership experience.
