📋 Description

• Shape new user experiences for the Scruff and Jack’d app team • Craft visually striking interface designs for a global LGBTQ+ community • Partner with product managers and engineers to solve user problems through design • Test design concepts and apply user insights • Contribute to and advance design systems • Design new product features • Deliver polished, engineering-ready UI • Plan lightweight user tests and gather research insights • Host design reviews and workshops to align stakeholders and generate ideas • Collaborate with engineers to balance design quality with technical feasibility • Define visual styles and guide designers or contractors in executing them consistently

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years in product design, UI/UX, or visual design, including 2–3 years in consumer-facing native mobile apps • Demonstrable portfolio highlighting collaboration with Product Management to design user flows, test concepts, refine UI/UX, and deliver polished design work for software or mobile apps • Proficient in Figma, including component libraries and motion prototypes • Demonstrated ability to define a visual style and guide other designers or contractors in executing it consistently • Experience contributing to or evolving a design system across multiple products • Strong understanding of composition, typography, and storytelling for in-app surfaces and campaigns • Organized, self-directed, and skilled at driving clarity across product, marketing, and engineering • Experience with agile teams and iterative delivery • Familiarity with After Effects, Lottie, Rive, or motion design tools for lightweight motion assets • Enthusiasm for or experience in one or more of the communities served by the designs • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote, global, distributed company • Portfolio or cover letter should highlight any installable app the candidate built or helped design
