📋 Description

• Facilitate data governance working groups to align business and technology stakeholders • Execute metadata management activities including cataloging, lineage capture, and stewardship workflows • Partner with business teams to draft and maintain business rules, definitions, and data quality controls • Apply data quality processes such as profiling, monitoring, and issue management • Support installation, configuration, rollout, and adoption of governance and metadata tools • Coach client staff on effective and sustainable data stewardship practices • Communicate governance concepts in business language • Prepare presentations, training materials, and adoption guides • Provide input on access controls, privacy, and regulatory compliance • Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business owners to embed governance into workflows, pipelines, modeling practices, and observability • Install and configure metadata/catalog tools in client environments • Build and curate catalogs containing technical metadata, business glossaries, and lineage • Define user personas and design role-appropriate experiences • Tailor tool workflows, dashboards, and search optimization to improve usability and adoption • Configure governance workflows including asset approvals, stewardship assignments, and issue tracking • Leverage and guide customers on AI-assisted metadata-tool features such as auto-classification, definition drafting, similarity matching, and lineage discovery

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data governance, metadata management, or related roles • Hands-on experience with data catalog/metadata tools such as Alation, Collibra, Atlan, or Purview • Exposure to data quality tools and processes such as Informatica, Talend, Ataccama, or equivalent • Strong communication skills; ability to facilitate workshops, write clear business documentation, and present to mixed audiences • Demonstrated ability to define and obtain alignment for definitions, business rules, and data quality controls • Familiarity with governance operating models and stewardship practices • Knowledge of privacy regulations including GDPR and CCPA and how governance practices support compliance • Willingness to travel as required by clients • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related field, or equivalent work experience • Preferred: experience leading or supporting data governance working groups or stewardship councils • Preferred: knowledge of data access provisioning, integration patterns, or lineage capture • Preferred: experience building adoption materials, training guides, or playbooks for governance programs • Preferred: prior client-facing consulting experience
