📋 Description

• Review medical records and assign ICD-10 diagnosis and CPT procedure codes in compliance with applicable policies and regulations • Manage patient demographics, clinical documentation, and billing data across practice management systems and hospital records • Abstract data in compliance with national, regional, and local policies • Utilize the practice management system to account for demographics and services performed for scheduled and unscheduled surgical cases • Use hospital medical record systems and coordinate with physicians and staff to obtain clinical documents and demographics for coding and billing • Educate and support clinical areas on appropriate documentation and coding of services • Maintain effective communication with providers concerning coding issues

🎯 Requirements

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge preferred • Accredited by the American Health Information Management Association (CCS-P) or the American Academy of Professional Coders (CPC) • Newly obtained coding certification to three years experience in provider coding and medical terminology with extensive knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPC Coding required • Preferred specialty experience in areas of Orthopaedics, Neurology, Physical Medicine, and Rehabilitation of Pain Management • Monday-Friday availability • Remote work arrangement
