📋 Description

• Shape the continuing evolution of the Planful financial performance management platform • Conduct generative and evaluative research, including customer interviews, contextual inquiry, usability tests, concept tests, and surveys • Recruit participants with Product, Customer Success, and Support and maintain an ongoing customer-conversation pipeline • Synthesize research into personas, journey maps, opportunity areas, and insight summaries • Measure shipped-design impact using usability metrics, behavioral data, and customer feedback • Maintain a shared research repository • Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders and customers and inform roadmap priorities • Define problem statements and develop wireframes, user flows, and interaction storyboards • Design mockups and prototypes using the Planful Design System and brand guidelines • Review competing products, industry conventions, and UX research • Partner with Engineering to navigate constraints and achieve strong UX outcomes • Contribute to the Planful pattern library and improve team standards • Estimate workload to support backlog planning and prioritization

🎯 Requirements

• 6-8 years of experience in UX research and design, ideally in enterprise or B2B SaaS • A portfolio demonstrating both research and design work, including how research findings shaped design decisions and outcomes • Hands-on experience with qualitative research methods, including user interviews, usability testing, and needs analysis • Familiarity with quantitative methods, including surveys and analytics review • Experience creating personas, scenarios, journey maps, and information architecture • Proficiency in Claude and Figma for wireframing, prototyping, and working within a design system • Experience collaborating with product managers and engineers throughout the design and development cycle • Strong communication and storytelling skills, with ability to present research and design rationale to varied audiences • Working knowledge of HTML/CSS and responsive design principles • Preferred: prior financial domain experience or finance domain knowledge • Preferred: experience designing for data-dense products such as grids, dashboards, and reporting tools • Preferred: experience designing or researching AI-powered or agentic experiences and using AI tools in daily workflows • Preferred: experience with UserTesting, Maze, Dovetail, or similar research tools
