📋 Description

• Own the engineering organization and technical delivery of rebuyengine.com • Lead engineering pods of 4–6 engineers and their team captains • Partner with the VP of Product on the roadmap and with the CEO/COO on operational execution • Set engineering strategy and own technical architecture, direction, and standards for code quality, reliability, and security • Grow the engineering organization, implement the pod operating model, handle organizational design, and establish career progression paths • Ship the V2 REST API surface, OpenAPI specification, and agent-readiness layer • Own engineering KPIs including delivery velocity, system reliability, defect density, and hiring quality • Partner on diligence-readiness for a strategic transaction, including repository hygiene, IP assignment, and security posture • Define technical vision, architecture standards, and product delivery roadmaps with Product • Own Rebuy engine performance metrics such as latency and errors • Manage all platform security • Review and optimize the technology stack and address critical points of failure with redundancies • Ensure delivery of high-quality code • Participate in recruiter, hiring manager, COO, panel, presentation, and final interviews

🎯 Requirements

• 15+ years in engineering leadership • Experience leading 30–50 person engineering organizations • Experience scaling SaaS platforms in ecommerce, martech, or developer tools • Proven success scaling high-growth SaaS platforms with focus on reliability, scalability, and operational excellence • Deep expertise in software architecture, distributed systems, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and platform engineering • Experience building API-first products and developer platforms using modern REST and OpenAPI standards • Strong understanding of CI/CD, DevOps, observability, incident management, and engineering operations • Experience optimizing application performance, platform latency, database performance, cloud infrastructure, and large-scale distributed systems • Strong knowledge of API design, OpenAPI, REST conventions, and agent-tool patterns • Fluency with modern stacks, including PHP, Node, React, and the Shopify ecosystem • Comfortable operating in an exit-process posture with discretion • Vast experience with large data sets and database expertise • Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex problems clearly • Executive presence and ability to influence decision-making and build trust • Ability to translate technical concepts into business strategies and executive recommendations • Collaborative leadership across Product, Customer Success, Sales, Operations, and Executive Leadership • Positive, self-motivated problem-solver passionate about e-commerce • Eligible to work in the United States or Canada; sponsorship requirements must be disclosed
