📋 Description

• Own hiring, coaching, growth, and performance for the Windows team • Hold regular 1:1s, conduct performance reviews, and create individual growth plans • Participate in recruiting from sourcing and screening through closing • Address performance issues directly and early • Be accountable for team delivery and culture • Run standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives • Monitor morale and address team friction • Keep work on track and manage dependencies • Communicate blockers, risks, and progress to stakeholders • Partner with product, design, QA, and support on planning and execution • Make product calls when needed to keep the team moving • Own throughput, shipping pace, predictability, and removal of delivery impediments • Improve leverage and focus the team on business and product outcomes • Use and guide AI-assisted development while maintaining quality and maintainability • Evaluate and improve tooling and workflows • Challenge the team to take on larger problems and measure outcomes • Exercise technical judgment with technical leads • Stay conversant in C#, .NET desktop applications, and native interop

🎯 Requirements

• Experience developing and delivering high-quality software on Windows • Familiarity with C#/.NET desktop applications • Engineering management experience, including hiring, 1:1s, performance reviews, and accountability for team delivery • Ability and desire to coach and develop engineers personally and technically • Regular use of AI development tools and critical evaluation of their output • Clear written and verbal communication with engineers and non-engineers • Accountability and honesty in owning team outcomes • Technical familiarity with native interop • Ability to make sound resourcing and prioritization decisions based on the team's technical direction
