📋 Description

• Define and champion end-to-end architecture for the Databricks data science and AI platform across a global topology • Establish reusable reference architectures, patterns, and blueprints • Lead Unity Catalog governance, including catalog hierarchies, fine-grained access, masking, lineage, and classification • Partner with infrastructure, security, and compliance teams on least-privileged access, responsible AI, regulatory requirements, and data sovereignty • Architect low-duplication Databricks and Snowflake integration using Apache Iceberg and Unity Catalog federation • Enable bi-directional data access and feature sharing across platforms • Build self-service frameworks, templates, IDE/notebook experiences, and documentation for actuarial, data science, and analytics teams • Mature ModelOps across model lifecycle, governance, versioning, and deployment using MLflow, Model Serving, and the AI Agent Framework • Optimize compute, clusters, and jobs for performance, reliability, and cost • Establish observability, tagging, chargeback/showback, and self-service cost and usage analytics • Serve as a trusted advisor through discovery workshops, proofs-of-concept, and technology evaluations • Curate a community of practice and promote sanctioned Databricks patterns • Mentor and upskill team members and build high-performing cross-functional data and AI teams

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Computer Science or equivalent education and experience — Required • 10+ years progressive experience in enterprise-level IT functions — Required • 7+ years experience managing large enterprise data initiatives and teams — Required • 5+ years architecting and operating enterprise-grade data and AI/ML platforms, with hands-on Databricks and Apache Spark experience on a major cloud; AWS preferred, Azure or GCP accepted — Required • Deep knowledge of Databricks Data Intelligence Platform, including Unity Catalog, Delta Lake/Iceberg, Lakeflow/Delta Live Tables, MLflow, Model Serving, AI Agent Framework/Agent Bricks, Lakebase, and Genie — Required • Knowledge of lakehouse architecture, ETL/ELT, Terraform, and Databricks Asset Bundles — Required • Demonstrated success building self-service platform capabilities and developer experiences for data science teams • ModelOps experience covering lifecycle management, versioning, governance, and deployment automation — Required • Strong consulting, stakeholder management, and communication skills, with experience influencing senior leadership and driving technology adoption — Required • Ability to drive innovation, introduce contemporary practices, and lead technology transformations — Required • Ability to define and communicate architecture vision, roadmaps, and best practices to technical and non-technical audiences — Required • Familiarity integrating Databricks with Snowflake and other engines via Apache Iceberg and Unity Catalog/Lakehouse federation — Preferred • Availability for cross-time-zone meetings — Preferred
