📋 Description

• Responsible for taking concepts created by sales and applications engineering teams and working through the detailed design of the solution • Understanding customer requirements and ensuring clarity of all requirements prior to detailed design • Consulting with applications engineering during the requirements and concept definition process • Documenting/updating the requirements when needed • Detailed design of AMR systems using OTTO Motors products to meet customer requirements • Including workflow definition, layout modifications and review, mechanical design and review of attachments • Creative solutioning of challenges encountered in project design phase • Utilize Excel/Google Sheets to review customer data, evaluate fleet size, cycle time analysis • Support the discrete event simulation process by verifying validity of all inputs for simulation • Working with the customer and internal simulation team through data analysis • Project planning for deliverables and work packages; effectively document, present, and explain proposed OTTO solution to customer team members • Visit customer sites to evaluate material handling operations, processes, existing equipment, and floor layout constraints • Work with systems engineering team to improve project/department tools, processes, and working relationships with other departments

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Relevant Field • Legal authorization to work in Canada • Ability to travel for business within North America, Europe and Asia; ~20 - 30 % travel • A valid full drivers licence • 0+ years of relevant experience • Strong communicator, verbal and written • Self-motivated and organized with a keen eye for detail • Understanding of complex integrated systems, material handling, mechanical and industrial equipment and processes • Experience creating, editing and reviewing CAD models/drawings; SolidWorks for 3D CAD and Draftsight for 2D CAD • Experience organizing and analyzing data using MS Excel and/or Google Sheets • Experience preparing engineering design documentation and reports
