📋 Description

• Define and lead the technical strategy for Slate’s next-generation ecommerce platform • Architect and evolve the digital storefront covering product discovery, vehicle configuration, checkout, payments, order management, and fulfillment • Lead software definition, design, architecture, implementation, and delivery • Code and test system components and lead code and design reviews • Own end-to-end code quality, system tests, functional tests, and integration • Simplify complex problems and develop innovative solutions • Collaborate with UX and product teams to build customer-focused solutions and applications • Serve as a technical authority and advise on difficult trade-off decisions • Drive awareness of the business impact of technical decisions • Balance technical leadership and business judgment in long-term technology decisions • Mentor individuals and the broader technical community on advanced technical issues • Assist managers with team members’ career growth

🎯 Requirements

• 12+ years of professional software development experience • Deep expertise building and operating scalable, customer-facing software systems • Strong technical leadership experience • Experience defining architecture, making complex technical trade-offs, and driving engineering decisions across teams • Experience designing and building reliable, scalable distributed systems • Experience with web services, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and modern software development practices • Ability to lead through ambiguity, simplify complex problems, and deliver high-quality solutions in fast-paced environments • Experience with modern ecommerce architectures, including headless or composable commerce patterns • Experience integrating product catalog/PIM, cart and checkout, payments, order management/OMS, and fulfillment systems • Experience integrating third-party platforms and SaaS products through APIs, events, and webhooks • Familiarity with marketplace or multi-vendor commerce models • Experience building high-performance customer experiences • Experience with frontend performance optimization, Core Web Vitals, and conversion-focused engineering
