📋 Description

• Build innovative backend features and services to help restaurant partners operate efficiently and improve customer experiences • Identify asymmetric, high-impact opportunities where small technical changes deliver large value • Own projects end-to-end from concept through production, working closely with product and design • Use the best tools for the job, potentially rewriting microservices or using new cloud services • Collaborate in a small, agile team of 5–8 backend engineers across the US, UK, and Europe; review code and brainstorm ideas • Ensure quality and performance at scale through coding best practices, testing, monitoring, logging, and alerting

🎯 Requirements

• Owner’s mindset: take initiative, own problems end-to-end, move with urgency • Proven builder: solid experience crafting scalable backend systems in Python (Flask) • Experience working with databases and cloud services • Comfortable with monitoring and logging tools to keep systems healthy • Technology-agnostic: ability to pick up new languages or frameworks (Go, Ruby, etc.) • Remote-ready collaborator: excel at working on a distributed team and communicating asynchronously • Product and customer focus: care about the why behind your code and express opinions on product direction • Innovative problem solver: seek creative, asymmetric solutions • Experience collaborating in small agile teams, performing code reviews and cross-team collaboration • Familiarity with testing, monitoring, logging, and DevOps practices
