📋 Description

• Support the end-to-end design process for product features, from early concepts and user flows through prototypes and final visual design • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and designers to turn user needs and business goals into product experiences • Contribute to Smile’s design system by creating, refining, and maintaining reusable components and patterns • Support design needs across the website, social media, sales materials, and other marketing initiatives • Use AI tools throughout the design process, including turning designs into working prototypes • Create thoughtful, intuitive experiences for merchants and their customers • Work with a remote-first design team serving thousands of merchants and millions of shoppers worldwide

🎯 Requirements

• Internships, freelance work, and personal projects count as relevant experience • Portfolio projects must be shareable, such as a website, Figma file, or live project • Comfortable working in Figma • Strong foundation in visual design, layout, typography, and UX principles • Already using AI in design work or side projects, and excited to explore AI-assisted workflows • Willingness to collaborate, ask questions, receive feedback, and iterate • Curious, organized, and eager to develop product thinking and design skills • Ability to overlap significantly with existing team hours, 9 AM–3 PM EST • Must be based in Canada • Nice to have: SaaS, e-commerce, or digital product design experience • Nice to have: design systems experience • Nice to have: motion design, prototyping, or product interaction experience • Nice to have: remote or distributed team experience • Nice to have: front-end code or AI coding tools experience
