📋 Description

• Review clinical records for clinical documentation integrity and mortality scoring • Collaborate on clinical documentation improvement and risk-adjustment findings • Maintain knowledge of CMS clinical documentation requirements and provide feedback to clinical staff during concurrent record review • Maintain knowledge of mortality models, O/E ratios, industry trends, variables, and DRG frequency • Liaise between coding staff and physicians • Identify opportunities for program development, extensions, and process improvements based on outcomes analysis • Work with team members to improve standard work • Maintain documentation and logs of adjusted risk and CDI opportunities • Apply evidence-based practice and scientific knowledge to nursing practice and age-specific clinical needs • Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner • Perform other assigned duties

🎯 Requirements

• Strong inpatient, adult CDI background • Previous PSI, mortality, and/or SLR experience • 4 years or more of recent CDI experience preferred • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, PA, NP, or medical school, or an Associate's degree and CCDS certification from ACDIS • Two years in an acute care setting with two years of clinical documentation experience, or 4 years of clinical documentation experience with CCDS certification • Required professional license and/or certification appropriate to the state of work location: CCDS, physician assistant, physician credentialing, RN, APN/APRN, nurse practitioner, or related listed credential • Ability to work regular business hours Monday–Friday, with earliest start at 6 AM and completion by 6 PM • Selected candidate must live in Missouri, Oklahoma, Illinois, or Wisconsin • Frequent keyboard use/data entry • Ability to perform listed physical activities, including occasional lifting of 25–50 lbs and rare climbing
