📋 Description

• Lead accounting, financial reporting, and compliance activities for Canadian operations • Serve as the primary finance leader for the Canadian entity • Establish scalable processes balancing local requirements with U.S.-based multinational reporting and governance needs • Manage Canadian federal and provincial tax, regulatory, and statutory reporting requirements • Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities • Post and review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and financial analyses • Prepare, review, and investigate balance sheet reconciliations, accounting variances, and financial discrepancies • Escalate risks and recommendations to management • Ensure compliance with Canadian accounting standards, statutory reporting, labor regulations, payroll requirements, and other regulatory obligations • Partner with Corporate Accounting, FP&A, Tax, Legal, and Operations teams on budgeting, forecasting, contract accounting, and operational finance initiatives • Support external audits, process improvements, ERP initiatives, and internal control enhancements

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field • Minimum of 8 years of related experience or equivalent work experience • CPA designation or an equivalent professional accounting qualification is preferred • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership skills • Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting, tax, statutory reporting, and regulatory requirements • Experience in financial reporting, controllership, compliance, audit management, and multinational or cross-border operations • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and multinational financial reporting environments • Fluency in English and French, both written and verbal • Experience with ERP systems; SAP experience is preferred • Experience with project accounting, long-term contract accounting, construction accounting, and revenue recognition principles • Valid driver's license and passport • Ability to drive and/or fly to company HQ
