📋 Description

• Own the architecture for a significant component or collection of services • Develop and maintain financial software solutions focused on payment systems, transaction processing, and financial-service integration • Design and build scalable, secure, efficient APIs for customer-facing and internal financial services • Develop distributed backend systems with high availability, fault tolerance, and security • Work with product, design, and operations teams in an Agile environment • Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting systems using AWS CloudWatch and other tools • Monitor system performance and resource utilization • Respond to incidents, diagnose issues, and perform post-mortem analyses • Design and implement integrations with third-party financial services and payment gateways, including ACH, credit-card processing, and digital wallets • Ensure code quality through automated testing, peer reviews, and continuous integration • Champion coding standards and best practices • Ensure compliance with security policies and standards such as PCI-DSS • Translate complex requirements into implementation plans and lead product improvements • Develop strategic software solutions addressing customer needs and seamless financial-service experiences • Support broader engineering initiatives and perform additional duties as requested

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience • 5+ years of software development experience focused on financial technology and payments • Experience building scalable, secure software solutions and APIs for high-transaction systems • Strong programming proficiency in Node.js, TypeScript, or similar languages • Experience designing and implementing APIs, backend systems, and microservices architectures • Familiarity with cloud services; AWS experience preferred • Understanding of software security, encryption, and fintech compliance standards such as PCI-DSS and SOC2 • Understanding of fintech ecosystems, including ACH, payment gateways, and real-time transaction processing • Experience working in fast-paced startup environments is a plus • Ability to work independently with limited supervision • Ability to meet the physical requirements of a primarily sedentary role, including sitting, standing, walking, using hands, reaching, and close vision
