📋 Description

• Serve as system lead and design authority for the Ex-Vessel Fuel Handling System • Lead the engineering and delivery of fuel handling machines, hot cells, and specialty casks for Natrium Reactor Plants • Manage a multidisciplinary design engineering team and oversee subcontracted resources and suppliers • Review and approve engineering design documentation • Control design configuration and interfaces • Ensure engineering work meets quality, technical, and procedural requirements • Oversee supplier, partner, and vendor technical work • Identify technical and project risks associated with system design and operation • Provide continuous leadership in safety, quality, and technical excellence • Develop staffing plans; hire, train, and develop personnel • Assign technical work according to schedule, resources, and budget • Monitor team performance against schedule and budget targets • Develop technical work scope and estimates for design and delivery activities • Support Project Management with project schedule development and maintenance • Interface with Plant Design Engineering, Project Management, Procurement, Operations, Quality Assurance, Testing, interfacing systems, Nuclear Licensing, Materials and Chemistry, Engineering Analysis, and Nuclear Design • Report to the Senior Manager of Fuel Handling Systems • Travel 20–25%

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university (Mechanical, Nuclear, Chemical, Systems, Civil or similar) • 10+ years experience with design and/or engineering management of system and/or component design • Experience with the preparation and approval of specifications, calculations, drawings/diagrams and other design documentation is required • Experience working to quality standards, especially ASME NQA-1 • Experience designing or overseeing nuclear cranes and hoists, below-the-hook lifting devices, storage and transportation casks, cask transporters, hot cell design, or hot cell equipment and process design • Ability to manage numerous competing priorities concurrently and work with minimal direction to solve multi-disciplinary problems • High degree of trust and integrity, open communication, respect, and desire to foster teamwork • Candidates must meet applicable ANSI/ANS 3.1 minimum education and experience criteria • U.S. Government export-control review may apply to foreign nationals
