📋 Description

• Litigate complex and high-exposure cases throughout Houston and surrounding counties • Analyze substantive, procedural, legal, and factual issues and conduct legal research • Develop and present defense strategies on behalf of clients • Prepare pleadings, written discovery, depositions, motions, and briefs • Provide legal advice and timely communications to clients and claims customers • Communicate with courts, witnesses, opposing counsel, and co-counsel • Promptly, efficiently, and effectively dispose of assigned cases • Prepare and present witnesses and evidence at trials, hearings, and alternative dispute resolutions • Research, draft, file, and argue appellate briefs • Provide opinions to the Managing Attorney, staff, clients, and claims customers • Report to the Staff Legal Managing Attorney

🎯 Requirements

• Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school • License to practice in Texas state and local federal courts • Member in good standing of the applicable Bar Association • Knowledge of Harris County and surrounding counties • Available transportation • Minimum of 7+ years of civil tort matters experience • Documented first- or second-chair jury trial/appellate experience preferred • Strong legal research and writing skills • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize duties and time • Strong communication, computer, and technological skills • Ability to quickly leverage new software as required • Demonstrated expertise and familiarity in handling claim cases and litigation • Strategic Thinking • Operational Excellence • Leadership • Business Knowledge and Decision Making • Effective Relationships • Excellent writing skills • Strong communication skills
