• Establish regional representation to strengthen mental wellness capacity of First Nations across Canada • Assess regional mental wellness needs and evaluate and provide ongoing support • Build understanding of First Nations Mental Wellness Continuum implementation efforts nationally and regionally • Coordinate with Thunderbird Partnership Foundation and First Peoples Wellness Circle objectives and priorities • Increase mental wellness capacity among regional stakeholders • Participate in and coordinate regional mental wellness committees and working groups • Map regional networks and resources supporting First Nations mental wellness services • Engage First Nations entities, networks, and non-profit organizations in developing standardized curricula, competencies, evaluations, regional substance-use strategies, and crisis response planning • Support research coordination and mental wellness data governance • Evaluate regional needs and make recommendations • Maintain systems maps and a regional stakeholder and partner database • Build stakeholder relationships and ensure service readiness, quality, and delivery • Support organizational awareness, networking, communication, and information sharing • Align activities with strategic plans, missions, and visions • Contribute to the business plan and prepare comprehensive work plans • Assess assigned projects and coordinate phases from initiation to completion • Ensure regional activities are implemented on schedule • Coordinate meetings and communicate project progress and changes • Prepare agendas, reports, briefing notes, and supporting documents for leadership, the board, and stakeholders • Monitor regional activities and ensure expenditures remain within budget
• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in public administration or relevant field of study • Two years of work-related experience with a master’s degree, or four years of work-related experience with a bachelor’s degree • Excellent writing skills in English and ability to communicate clearly • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Office • Proficiency using Zoom and other platforms for hosting online meetings and events • Experience working with First Nations or an Indigenous organization • Knowledge of First Nations culture and customs, including natural healing • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills • Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders • Ability to function autonomously with minimal supervision and adapt to change • High level of professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality • Strong work ethic and commitment to quality • Organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment • Demonstrated success working collaboratively with staff, volunteers, board members, and stakeholders • Public speaking, presentation, community engagement, and networking skills • Ability to build strong working relationships • Means to travel and access worksites not accessible by public transit • Fluency in a First Nations language is an asset
