• Developing, delivering, and evaluating training programs for Bolter Operators across multiple underground mining projects • Ensuring operators achieve and maintain competency in safe, efficient, and productive rock bolting practices • Providing hands-on field coaching, classroom instruction, competency assessments, and mentorship to operators of varying skill levels • Working closely with site management, supervisors, and health and safety teams to improve operational performance and overall workforce capability • Developing and delivering standardized bolter operator training programs aligned with company standards and site-specific requirements • Conducting classroom, practical, and field-based instruction covering all aspects of mechanized bolting operations • Facilitating new employee orientation, onboarding, and refresher training programs • Evaluating operator competency through structured practical demonstrations and field observations • Conducting formal operator assessments and maintaining accurate, up-to-date training records • Supporting initial certification, periodic recertification, and cross-training processes • Working with site supervision to improve bolting practices, ground support quality, and operational efficiency • Promoting best practices in bolting methods and ground support installation • Participating in incident investigations involving bolting operations and providing corrective training recommendations • Analyzing bolting performance metrics and providing data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement • Ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable regulations • Conducting field inspections and safety audits focused on bolting operations and ground support installation • Preparing regular reports on training activities, operator competency status, and workforce development progress.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required • Mining-related trade certification or post-secondary education is considered an asset • Adult education, training design, or instructional certification is considered an asset • Minimum 8–10 years of underground mining experience required • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience operating mechanized bolters in an underground hard rock or coal mining environment • Previous experience as a Trainer, Lead Hand, Supervisor, or Mentor is strongly preferred • Experience with various bolter manufacturers including Epiroc, Sandvik, JH Fletcher, MacLean, or equivalent • Strong understanding of underground ground support systems, installation methods, and ground control management plans • Valid driver's licence required • Relevant underground mining certifications required (jurisdiction-specific) • Ground Control certification or equivalent is a strong asset • Train-the-Trainer (T3) certification preferred • Standard First Aid / CPR certification considered an asset.
