📋 Description

• Own and scale real-time event ingestion and streaming through Kafka • Own analytical and feature data systems in ClickHouse • Design, operate, debug, and scale data transformation and ML workflows • Build, refactor, and scale React frontends, Node/Express/Nest-style services, and MongoDB-backed APIs • Develop integrations, onboarding, billing, and customer-facing analytics • Own CI/CD, Terraform, Kubernetes, AWS/GCP infrastructure, secrets management, deployment reliability, and environment automation • Use AI-assisted workflows for scaffolding, tests, migrations, code review, observability queries, runbooks, Terraform modules, and data debugging • Own SOC 2 readiness, audit-friendly CI/CD, secrets rotation, IAM hygiene, observability, and incident response • Map the platform, repositories, environments, pipelines, cloud resources, and deployment paths during the first 90 days • Harden CI/CD with testing, build validation, deployment controls, and rollback procedures • Establish an AI-assisted engineering workflow for the broader team • Improve observability across services, containers, and data flows • Replace vendor-dependent infrastructure with internally owned Terraform/Kubernetes automation • Operate as a senior individual contributor reporting to the CTO / Co-Founder

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, including production ownership • Hands-on production ownership of data/streaming pipelines, including Kafka and ClickHouse or directly comparable technologies • Operational experience with throughput, retention, schema evolution, backfills, and pipeline reliability • Strong full-stack experience with TypeScript/JavaScript, React, Node.js, Express and/or NestJS, and MongoDB • Experience with AWS and/or GCP, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, GitHub Actions CI/CD, secrets management, and deployment automation • Production systems experience with logs, metrics, traces, alerts, and incident response under pressure • Demonstrable AI-native experience using AI tooling to multiply delivery, with a workflow that can be explained • Strong architectural judgment and ability to design systems, simplify them, and explain tradeoffs • Comfort working in a lean startup with high ownership, incomplete documentation, and shifting priorities • Willingness to take broad ownership and pursue startup equity upside
